These terms explain the rules for using Barn Books. By creating an account or using Barn Books, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Barn Books.
What Barn Books is
Barn Books is an online tool that helps small farms budget, track loans, see cash flow, and estimate taxes. It works in your web browser.
Estimates only, not professional advice
Barn Books gives estimates for planning. It is not tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. Tax numbers, loan figures, and budgets depend on what you enter and on rules that change. Check important decisions with a tax preparer, accountant, lawyer, or farm lender. You are responsible for decisions you make using Barn Books.
Your account
You need an account to use Barn Books. Keep your password private, and tell us right away if you think someone else is using your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
Plans and payment
The Starter plan is free and covers one business budget. The full version is a paid subscription, billed monthly or yearly. Payments are handled by Stripe, a payment company. We never see or store your full card number.
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. A launch price, if offered, applies only as described when you sign up. After that, the regular price applies. If we change prices, we will tell you by email before the change affects you.
Canceling
You can cancel anytime from Manage subscription in the app. When you cancel, you keep the full version until the end of the period you already paid for, and you will not be charged again. We don't give refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged by mistake, email us and we will make it right.
Your farm data
The numbers and records you enter belong to you. We store them so Barn Books can work for you, and we handle them as described in our Privacy Policy. We never sell your farm data.
Fair use
Please don't misuse Barn Books. That includes trying to break into it, interfering with how it works, copying it to make a competing product, or using it for anything illegal. We may suspend accounts that do these things.
Changes and availability
We work to keep Barn Books running and accurate, but it is provided as it is, and we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may improve or change features over time. If we make a big change to these terms, we will tell you by email or in the app.
Limits on responsibility
To the extent the law allows, Barn Books is not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits, or for decisions made using its estimates. Our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
