Privacy Policy
Effective November 5, 2026
This policy explains what information Barn Books collects, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect only what we need to run Barn Books, and we never sell your information.
What we collect
Account information: your email address and a password. Your password is stored in a scrambled form that we can't read.
Your farm data: the budgets, sales, purchases, loans, and other numbers you enter, so Barn Books can save them and show them on any device you sign in from.
Billing information: if you subscribe, Stripe handles your payment. Stripe gives us your name, email, billing ZIP code, and whether your subscription is active. We never see or store your full card number.
Your browser: Barn Books saves a copy of your work in your web browser so it loads quickly. We don't use advertising cookies or tracking tools.
How we use it
We use your information to run Barn Books, keep your account secure, process your subscription, send you important messages about your account, and answer you when you contact us. We don't send marketing emails unless you choose to receive them.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We share it only with the companies that help run Barn Books, and only what they need to do their job:
Supabase stores your account and farm data. Stripe processes payments. Netlify hosts the Barn Books website.
We may also share information if the law requires it, such as a valid court order.
Keeping it safe
Your farm data is protected so that only you can see it when signed in. Information is sent over secure, encrypted connections. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your choices
You can view and change your farm data anytime in the app. To get a copy of your data or to delete your account and its data, email us and we will take care of it. Some billing records may need to be kept for tax and legal reasons.
Children
Barn Books is meant for adults running farms. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make a big change to this policy, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
